A request for the winter months

If you are able to send in a box of tissues with your child, we would very much appreciate the support. The Warehouse has a couple of options. Ngā mihi nui.

Staying up to date - Reminder

The big 3 - HERO, Newsletter Online and Skoolloop.

LINC-ED Hero on Vimeo
Linc-ED - HERO is our student management system. You can access your school account and your children’s learning here https://go.linc-ed.com/ You will find all school information letters etc. in the app and/or in your email via Hero .
For information about how to get the App and how to use it go to this link https://linc-ed-hero.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026349934-Logging-into-Hero-Information-for-Parents

The school newsletter is online and regularly updated with lots of info about school. All communications will be shared on the newsletter so if you miss a letter or want more information this is a searchable resource which also looks great on your mobile.

The Skool Loop App is a mobile app downloadable from the App Store or Play Store.
We'll use it to send you quick messages, updates and reminders. Its also useful for telling us about Absentees and Permissions
It also has a direct link to the online newsletter.

HINT: Adding these 3 Apps in a folder on your mobiles home screen will make them easier to find and check.

We also have a Facebook https://www.facebook.com/boiiacademy/ and an Instagram https://www.instagram.com/bayofislandsacademy/
We'll share stories from school here too, but do not rely on these sources for all the  information you might need.

Asking for feedback

We sent this survey out to parents and whānau prior to returning under Level 2. It's not too late to have your say.

Covid-19 Level 2 pending announcement

Kia ora koutou school community,

As a result of the latest update from our Prime Minister regarding Covid-19 in the community I can confirm the following:

1. If LEVEL 2 is announced on Monday 11th May (next Monday), all children will be able to return to school.
2. If LEVEL 2 is announced children will return on Monday 18th May.
3. We currently remain open under Level 3 to take your children should you need to send them due to the nature of your work or their supervision at home. Currently we have 2 children attending and I have been notified of 2 further joining them on Monday 11th May. So that I can arrange necessary teacher support and bus transportation please let me know as soon as possible if you intend sending children to school.

The survey linked here has a few short questions asking for your feedback on learning online and your future intentions, https://forms.gle/hACvtFwue54Mz8hR7. Your responses help us to know how to provide you with the best support possible.

It's perfectly OK

Hi everyone,

I wanted to acknowledge the good work everyone is doing with their children at home. I acknowledge that each of you is dealing with your own personal circumstances, including trying to offer support for your children's learning online. I acknowledge that this can be hard and stressful at times.

Everyone is doing what they can, and for each of you, this is perfectly OK

If you are feeling worried or concerned about what you are able to achieve, from a school perspective, please don't. Everything will turn out fine.

I hope to be able to write to you towards the end of this week with more information about a possible return to school next week.

Please continue to feel free to call me at school with any questions or concerns.

Ngā mihi nui
