 Our teachers are using a new tool to help them enhance their practice in the classroom. It is video based and this letter contains all the information you might need to know. Feel free to be in touch if you have other questions.

Three Way Conferences

 

We've sent a notification through the HERO app and on our Facebook page of the upcoming opportunities to meet your teachers at three way conferences.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join your child and discuss goals and aspirations for the 2021 school year with their teacher.

Community Event - Engage your Brain

 

Bus Stop - Nuture by Nature - Afternoon pickup

Parents, whānau and caregivers will be aware that the bus needs plenty of space to pull off the road at Nuture by Nature to allow children to unload safely. I am asking everyone who collects children from that stop in the afternoons to please recognise the need for space and park your cars accordingly.

The side street alongside Orangewood may be an option.

Your support and cooperation in ensuring this is a safe and successful stop is appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Annual Consent Form 2021

We have asked all parents to complete and/or update the annual consent form for each child at the school. Paper copies have been sent home but we will accept responses through this form.

Safer Internet Day

Netsafe have created a series of resources to assist parents having conversations with children at home. As part of our Ko Wai Au values at the Bay Academy, positive digital citizenship is a major focus. I have pulled out some conversation starters you might like to use at home when discussing internet use.

 

Being the best version of myself

This year we are aligning our Ko wai au school values more closely with the IB Learner Profile.

This poster identifies the expectations for behaviour applying everywhere at the Bay Academy.

If you think they apply, feel free to adopt these at home. A wonderful way to embed these behaviours is consistent discussion about why we have the expectation, and what might be the benefits of developing a positive behaviour mindset.
